Privacy policy.
How FlightGap handles your data: what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. This is a placeholder draft for review, not final legal copy.
1. What we collect
Account basics you give us when you sign in — your email address (verified by a one-time code) and, if you use Google sign-in, your name and profile image. We also keep the saved searches and alert preferences you create, plus basic usage data that helps us improve and secure the product.
2. How we use it
To show you economy-vs-business comparison results, to send the price and deal alerts you opt into by email, and to improve, troubleshoot and secure FlightGap. We send transactional and alert email only.
3. What we don't collect
We don't store payment or card details, we don't process bookings, and we don't track what you do on airline or partner websites after you leave FlightGap.
4. How bookings work
FlightGap is a comparison tool, not a travel agent. We surface fares and a GapScore, then redirect you to the airline, online travel agency or partner (including Flightpoints for award search) to complete any booking on their own site, under their own terms.
5. Sharing & security
We never sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that run FlightGap on our behalf — email delivery and hosting infrastructure — and with airlines and partners via outbound links you choose to follow. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
6. Legal disclosures
We may disclose data if required by law or where necessary to protect our rights, users or safety. If FlightGap is involved in a merger or acquisition, your data may transfer to the successor entity, and we will notify you of any such change.
7. Your choices
You can toggle alerts on or off and opt out of communications at any time from your account or directly from any alert email.
8. Children's privacy
FlightGap is not directed at anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children, and we will delete any such data on notification.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a portable copy of your personal data. To exercise any of these, email support@flightpoints.com.
10. Data retention
We keep your data only as long as needed to operate the service, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, and resolve any disputes.
11. Updates
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes are posted here with a new effective date, and continued use after they take effect constitutes acceptance.
